MIC 1070 - Microbiology for Dental Medicine Students The Microbiology course is crafted to impart fundamental knowledge concerning bacteria, fungi, parasites, and other pertinent pathogens relevant to the field of dentistry and its clinical application. This includes a focused examination of their structure, physiology, growth patterns, genetics, pathogenesis, diagnostic methodologies for bacterial diseases, their impact on the immune system, and clinical presentations. Significant attention will be dedicated to understanding the oral microbiome and its ecosystem, with an emphasis on organisms associated with periodontal, dentoalveolar, endodontic, mucosal, and salivary gland infections.
