MPH 5201 - Psychosocial Aspects of Public Health The course MPH 5201 is designed to develop in the student basic literacy regarding psycho - social concepts and processes that influence health status and public health interventions. It will focus on the contribution of social and behavioral sciences to the understanding of the distribution, etiology, and solution of public health problems. The course content pretends to introduce the student in the study of the socio-ecological factors responsible for health /related behaviors that lead to morbidity and premature mortality. During the class the student would also be able to analyze the current trends in the psychological, social and community dimensions of health research. The coursework emphasizes the principles of social and environmental factors responsible for healthy behavior.
