NUR 5200 - Research for Advanced Practice Nursing II


(4 Credits)

This course will provide a baseline for the research process at an advanced level, applying various methods used for evidenced-based practice improvement through synthesis of the literature, comparison of qualitative vs quantitative research, and program evaluation/outcomes. Action research and quality improvement will be explored through critical analysis of each and the application of statistical analysis software and interpretation of findings. Fundamental principles of the research process, including cultural and ethical considerations, will be reviewed. Students will search and critically appraise nursing research studies.
Modality: Online, Sixty (60) academic hours.
