DPH 6340 - Heath Services Administration and Management

In this course DrPH students will have the opportunity of identifying the foundational concepts of health services administration & management and the inherent administrative processes to the field of the Administration of Health Services of using several academic strategies like interactive lectures and group discussions, presentations and readings. Accordingly with the Association of Schools of Public Health, the course will be focused as a multidisciplinary field of inquiry and practice concerned with the delivery, quality and costs of health care for individuals and populations, assuming both a managerial and a policy concern with the structure, process and outcomes of health services including the costs, financing, organization, outcomes and accessibility of care. At the end of the course, students will be able to apply basic concepts of health services administration and management to perform Public Health in an appropriated and successfully way and will review the major aspects of management and the skills necessary to be successful as an executive in the healthcare system.
