NUR 2121 - Foundations of Professional Nursing


(3 Credits)

This course is a foundations class that introduces the nursing student to basic principles of nursing science at the baccalaureate level and the professional roles of direct care provider, manager of care, multidisciplinary health care team member, and accountable member of the nursing profession. Student accountability and commitment as an active participant in the teaching, learning, and evaluation processes are necessary for successful completion of the course and progression to the next level nursing course. Forty-five (45) lecture hours.
