ENG 1010 - Basic Intensive English (3 Credits)
This foundational course is designed to develop students’ essential English language skills for academic and professional success in health sciences and other university-level disciplines. Emphasizing reading, writing, listening, and speaking, the course helps students build vocabulary, master grammar fundamentals, and improve pronunciation and fluency through intensive practice. Students will engage in structured academic reading, paragraph and short essay writing, oral presentations, and listening comprehension activities. Special attention is given to healthcare-related terminology and communication strategies to support future coursework and professional interactions. This course prepares students for intermediate-level English and promotes confidence in using English in both academic and real-world settings. Forty-five (45) lecture hours.
