NUR 4041 - Leadership and Management (3 Credits)
This course introduces students to essential concepts of leadership and management within the context of professional nursing practice. Emphasis is placed on leadership theories, organizational structures, change management, team coordination, and quality improvement strategies. Students will explore the roles and responsibilities of nurse leaders in diverse healthcare environments, focusing on ethical decision-making, delegation, conflict resolution, resource management, and fostering a culture of safety. The course also examines legal, financial, and policy issues influencing healthcare delivery and the nurse’s role in transforming care. Through case studies and discussion, students will develop foundational skills necessary to lead, manage, and advocate effectively within interprofessional teams. Forty-five (45) lecture hours.
