PHO 5101 - Fundamentals of Public Health

This is an introductory course to fundamentals in public health. Three basic core elements structure the course: 1. Identification of basic components of public health profession and of a public health practitioner: Public health definition, CEPH domains/competencies and learning objectives, core functions and CDC essential services. 2. Knowledge of the academic constituents of public health: sciences of public health. 3. In site vision of public health.
Three clusters structure the course:
1. Foundations.
2. The sciences of public health.
3. Public health in Puerto Rico.
