NUR 2122 - Foundations of Professional Nursing: Clinical Practice and Simulation (2 Credits)
This course provides foundational knowledge and skills for professional nursing practice. Building upon basic nursing science principles, students will explore the diverse roles of the nurse (direct care provider, care manager, member of the healthcare team) and the importance of accountability and commitment within the profession. The course integrates didactic learning with simulated clinical experiences, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge and develop essential nursing skills in a safe and controlled environment. Emphasis is placed on using the nursing process, critical thinking, evidence-based practice, effective communication, and interprofessional collaboration to ensure safe and effective patient care. Sixty (60) hours of clinical practice and simulation. Pre-requisite(s): NUR 2110 Corequisite(s): NUR 2121 , NUR 2123
