ENG 1030 - Conversational English (3 Credits)
This course is designed to develop students’ oral communication skills in English, with emphasis on practical, real-life interactions in academic and healthcare environments. Students will build confidence in speaking through structured dialogues, discussions, presentations, and role-play activities. Focus areas include pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary acquisition, listening comprehension, and cross cultural communication. Special attention is given to professional communication in healthcare, including therapeutic conversations, patient teaching, and interdisciplinary team interactions. By the end of the course, students will be able to communicate more effectively and appropriately in varied conversational contexts. Forty-five (45) lecture hours. Pre-requisite(s): ENG 1010 , ENG 1020
