NUR 4032 - Pediatric Nursing/ Clinical Practice and Simulation


(2 Credits)

In this course, the student will apply the basic skills necessary for the care of children and adolescents, families, and communities, based on the philosophy of the school and the nursing process. She will perform clinical practice in simulated laboratories and in different healthcare scenarios. Likewise, she will use the nursing process to promote health and prevent diseases in children, adolescents, families, and communities. Students will use family systems theory in developing comprehensive care plans for newborns through adolescence, with emphasis on disease and injury prevention, quality improvement and informatics, nutrition, and evaluation and treatment of pathological conditions. common and developmental disorders using evidence. Practice-based approach. These principles will also apply to families with special needs. Sixty (60) clinical and simulation hours.
