NUR 3172 - Nursing Care of the Childbearing Family/Clinical Practice and Simulation (2 Credits)
This course provides students with hands-on practice and simulated clinical experiences in caring for childbearing individuals and families. Building upon previous coursework, students will apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum, including high-risk situations. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based practice, person-centered care, interprofessional collaboration, and ethical decision-making. Students will develop communication skills with patients and families, creating comprehensive care plans, and integrating knowledge of normal and abnormal physiology to optimize patient outcomes.
