NUR 4031 - Pediatric Nursing (3 Credits)
This course builds upon foundational nursing knowledge to prepare students for providing comprehensive, evidence-based care to children and their families across the lifespan (newborn through adolescence). Students will utilize family systems theory to develop individualized care plans, integrating assessment data, developmental considerations, and knowledge of common pediatric conditions and developmental disorders. Emphasis will be placed on health promotion, disease prevention, quality improvement initiatives, and health informatics to support clinical decision-making. The course also addresses ethical and legal considerations in pediatric care and promotes effective communication strategies within interprofessional healthcare teams.
