NUR 2330 - Nutrition (2 Credits)
This course provides nursing students with foundational knowledge of human nutrition and its critical role in health promotion, disease prevention, and patient recovery. Emphasizing evidence-based practice, students will explore the relationship between nutrition, pathophysiology, and patient outcomes across the lifespan. Key topics include nutrient metabolism, dietary assessment, nutritional needs of diverse populations, and the management of common nutritional disorders. The course also addresses cultural, ethical, and socioeconomic factors influencing dietary choices and nutritional health. Students will develop collaboration skills with interprofessional teams, including dietitians, to implement person-centered nutritional interventions that support holistic care in various healthcare settings.
