NUR 4121 - Medical Surgical Nursing II (4 Credits)
This course builds upon previous knowledge to prepare students for advanced nursing practice with adult and family clients experiencing acute or complex medical-surgical conditions. Students will utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment to assess, diagnose, and manage patients with health concerns affecting the digestive, renal, endocrine, nervous, and musculoskeletal systems. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based practice, person-centered care, interprofessional collaboration, and ethical decision-making within complex healthcare systems. The course includes exploring palliative and end-of-life care, emphasizing the importance of providing holistic and compassionate care. Students will develop advanced skills in care planning, resource coordination, and patient/family education. Sixty (60) lecture hours.
