NUR 4122 - Medical Surgical Nursing II: Clinical Practice and Simulation (3 Credits)
This course provides students with advanced clinical experiences and simulated practice in caring for adult patients with complex medical-surgical conditions affecting the cardiovascular, digestive, endocrine, nervous, and musculoskeletal systems. Building upon previous coursework, students will utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment to assess, diagnose, manage, and evaluate care for patients in acute care settings. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based practice, person-centered care, interprofessional collaboration, and ethical decision-making. Students will develop proficiency in advanced assessment techniques, complex care planning, and integrating pharmacological, nutritional, and psychosocial aspects of care. The course also includes an exploration of palliative and end-of-life care. Ninety (90) lecture hours.
