NUR 4141 - Critical Care Nursing


(4 Credits)

This advanced course prepares students to provide holistic, evidence-based care for critically ill adult patients and their families. Building upon foundational nursing knowledge, students will develop advanced clinical judgment and decision-making skills for managing complex conditions in intensive care settings. Emphasis is placed on applying the nursing process, utilizing a systems-based approach, and collaborating effectively within the interprofessional team. The course incorporates ethical considerations and explores strategies for delivering compassionate, person-centered care, including end-of-life care. Students will also develop proficiency in advanced assessment techniques and critical care interventions.  Sixty (60) lecture hours.
