(3 Credits)

This capstone practicum allows senior-level nursing students to integrate and apply previously acquired knowledge and skills within a chosen specialty area. Under the direct supervision of a qualified Registered Nurse preceptor and with faculty guidance, students will function as pre-licensed members of the healthcare team, assuming responsibility for a group of patients. Emphasis is placed on developing advanced clinical judgment, critical thinking, leadership skills, and effective communication within interprofessional teams. The practicum experience will integrate ethical considerations, evidence-based practice, and the application of technology to optimize patient care and advocate for patient well-being.  Forty-five (45) lecture hours.
